Peak - 2017
My first experience in filmmaking led to an award-winning experience, both figuratively and literally. In the spring of 2017, a small group of close friends created Peak. The story centers on how fast life can change. I learned so much in just a few months, and that kickstarted my experience in film production. Just about a year later, we submitted Peak to the Adrian Film Festival, where our film went on to win the Audience Choice Award, a massive win for our small crew, as it was up against other short films, documentaries, and even feature-length films. This experience holds a special place in my heart, and I'm grateful for the time I spent on this production.
Saving Roll - 2018
Who knew that a game of Dungeons & Dragons could inspire a group of friends to save a local theatre? In the fall of 2018, as the main component of my Advanced Documentary Filmmaking Course, my team created a short documentary following a group of friends in their efforts to fundraise to save a local theatre in Grand Rapids. Their solution? Live-action Dungeons & Dragons. Every month they would put on a live show, giving 100% of the proceeds to their host, Dog Story Theatre. Eventually gaining enough traction, the film culminates in their performance at Grand Rapids Comic-Con.
The Young Ones International Advertising Competition
Finishing my introductory media agency experience was a submission to the Young Ones annual advertising competition. Real companies, real briefs. Our choice? Bang & Olufsen. Our comprehensive advertising campaign had to be condensed into a 2 minute case study video, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.  To see everything else, you should take a visit to my "Art Direction and Advertising" section of my portfolio.
